In President Joe Biden’s first address to a joint session of Congress last week, he made a familiar argument for swift climate action: “Jobs. Jobs. Jobs.” This framing seems to have brought some considerable success to climate groups’ social media engagement, especially on Facebook.

Climate group NC WARN has spent over $70k on digital ads fighting Duke Energy
So far this year, NC WARN has spent $29,750 on Facebook ads, $25,200 on Google + YouTube ads, and $19,168 on Snapchat ads, almost all of which have been criticizing Duke Energy or pressuring Gov. Roy Cooper to act.
Chuck Schumer pushing climate change in first ads of re-election bid
The new Senate Majority Leader is taking no chances with his upcoming re-election. His campaign has spent over $280k on digital ads so far across Facebook, Google, and Snapchat, and many of his initial video ads - targeting young adults in New York City - are highlighting Schumer’s commitment to bold climate action.
